Privacy and terms
The two legal documents that govern your use of the app are public pages:
- Privacy policy: who operates the service, what is collected, the sub-processors that handle your data, how long it is kept, and your rights.
- Terms of service: your account, your content, the AI features, subscriptions and refunds, and governing law.
What the AI features send out
When you use Capture or the garden assistant, your note and the names of your beds, plantings and garden location are sent to Anthropic’s API to be parsed. Anthropic does not train on API data and keeps it for up to 30 days. Address lookup sends the address text you type to Photon, and weather sends your garden’s coordinates to Open-Meteo. The full list is the sub-processor table on the privacy policy.
Analytics and your choice
The app uses PostHog for product analytics: named events only, no session recording, IP addresses discarded. In the EU, EEA and UK nothing is sent and nothing is stored on your device until you tap “Accept analytics” on the strip that appears on your first visit; “Decline” keeps analytics off. Elsewhere analytics is on by default. The choice is stored on the device you made it on, and a small first-party cookie (__Host-eg_consent, “granted” or “denied”) lets our servers honor it too. Our servers send security signals and error reports without asking, with no IP address (a keyed hash where a repeat source must be recognized). Deleting your account also asks PostHog to delete your person record and events. To change it, use the “Analytics” link in the footer of any public page: it clears the stored choice and shows the strip again.
Your data, your call
- Export: “Download my data” in Preferences gives you a JSON copy of your whole account, on every plan.
- Delete: “Delete my account” in Preferences removes your account and its data.
- Anything else: email the address on the privacy policy. We respond within 30 days.
Launch news and unsubscribing
Requesting access puts your email on the launch list. Every launch mail carries an unsubscribe link (/unsubscribe/<your code>); one click removes you from launch news for good, and the page confirms it without showing your email. Mail about an account you hold (sign-in links, invitations) is not affected. A used or mistyped link shows “That link is not valid”; email the address on the privacy policy to be removed by hand.
Age
You must be 16 or older to hold an account.
