Vendors

A vendor is a place you buy or save seed from — Johnny’s Selected Seeds, Baker Creek, a local nursery, or just “saved.” You add a vendor once and then pick it from a list on any seed packet or bed, instead of retyping the name each time.

The list

The vendors page lists everything in your catalog. Each row shows the name, website, and notes. You can search, sort by name or date added, and switch between cards and a table. In the table view you can edit a cell inline by double-clicking it.

Tap a vendor (the card body, or its name in the table) to open its detail page.

The detail page

The detail page shows the vendor’s name, website, notes, and how many seed lots and assets you have sourced from it. If the vendor has a website, a “Visit website” link opens it in a new tab.

From the detail page, the Edit button opens a form where you can change the name, website, and notes. Saving takes you back to where you came from — the detail page, or the list if you opened the editor straight from there. The Delete button removes the vendor; anything that referenced it keeps its other data and just loses the link.

Editing

There are two ways to edit a vendor:

• Inline in the table view — double-click a cell and type.
• The full edit form — tap the pencil on a card, or open the detail page and tap Edit.

Both save to the same record. The form is the place to change several fields at once; the inline edit is for a quick one-field fix.
