Setting up a garden
A brand-new garden is empty. Setup gets your beds and plantings in quickly, without filling one form at a time. You pick how you want to do it, and you can always add more later.
Pick a path
When you start, you choose one of three ways:

Chatting is the easiest if you are not sure where to start.
Set up by chatting
Tell Evengrow about your garden in plain language and it builds the garden as you talk: where you grow, what to call it, your beds and pots, and what you have planted. It asks one thing at a time and fills in the rest. Nothing is saved while you chat. When you have the essentials (a name, a location, and at least one growing space), you get a review screen where you can edit anything, then create the garden in one step. Unknown plant names become your own varieties instead of being dropped. The chat needs AI to be on; if it is off, you will see only the manual and import options.
Set it up myself
The walkthrough has three short steps:
- Name your garden and tell us where it grows. The location powers the weather feed and the AI advice. You also say how much growing experience you have, which tunes how the assistant talks to you.
- Add your beds, all at once. Type a name for each, pick what it is (raised bed, grow bag, pot), and optionally its size. Add as many rows as you need.
- Quick-add what is planted. For each, type the plant, choose which bed it is in, and optionally when you sowed it. Unknown plant names become your own variety instead of being dropped.
You can skip the beds or plantings step and add them later. When you finish, you land on Today with your garden ready.
Import my data
If your garden lives in a spreadsheet, name your garden first, then you go straight into Import data: upload a CSV or XLSX, map your columns, review anything flagged, and bring it in. Bad rows are flagged, never silently dropped.
Adding more later
Setup is just the fast start. Everything you do here you can also do anytime from your garden: add beds on the Map or the Assets page, add plantings from Plantings, and import more from Import data.
